Bio

Bridget graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology from The Catholic University of America in 2014. She was involved in a 5 year B.S./M.S. program there and graduated with a master's the following year. She is now pursuing a Ph.D in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has joined Ben Reese's lab, focusing on retinal development. Starting after her freshman year of college, Bridget began interning during her summers at the United States Army Medical Institute of Infectious Diseases, working in the Diagnostic Systems Division. Beginning her junior year of college, she joined a lab at Catholic University under the direction of Dr. John Golin. There, she studied the mulitdrug pump Pdr5, found in yeast. Bridget had very helpful mentors in her undergraduate career, both in her academic and sports environment. She hopes to now do the same for those at UCSB!
